I love you, MiMi

They have a "thing," the two of them. My mom ("MiMi") and my big boy are just one big mutual admiration society. It's a pretty incredible thing to see. Any day is made better just by the two of them being together. My mom is fantastic and many many other wonderful things and it's such a blessing to see my son in complete agreement with me.

"And it went BOOM!'

Last summer, my parent's neighbor was having a pool installed. They were clearing the yard and cut down a few trees. Jon David and I went over one day to see the excitement. He is STILL talking about the tree going "Boom!" and finding these branches this afternoon took him back to that eventful day at Mimi's.

The Crusteys

Is it spring yet??? Well, it sort of feels like it with the weather nice and mild (though quite windy). But, we still have what I hope is a final winter cold. Josiah's nose is just a little runny but that could be the two bottom teeth just days away from popping out. Jon David acts like he feels fine though he has a crusty nose and a hacking cough. It could be worse. It seems our family prayer list is just way too full of little babies and kids with serious illnesses. So, we will keep perspective and keep wiping the runny noses!

ABCs

The good news is that the not-so-fun times with my boys are quite small compared to the fun. I try to keep that perspective when we're experiencing a lot of "growth opportunities." So here is a video of my big boy who is not feeling so great today. He's got a cold but I did coax some ABCs out of him.

Check out Baby Si in the background just rolling all over the place!

What's Happenin'

I never thought it would happen to me - bloggers block. I cannot come up with hardly anything to write! I hate that this has been such a low "post" month. >Sigh<>

Josiah has "forgotten" how to sleep through the night. Pride goeth before the fall, as they say. No sooner had I bragged on him in this blog did he decide that he needed to see me in the night. Not cool, Baby Si! We're almost completely back on track, thank goodness.

Jon David is giving us a run, literally, for our money. He listens pretty well to me at home since he knows that "Mommy don't play around." Idle threats are not my thing and I don't take forever to get to 3 when counting. But, he seems to sense weakness in public especially when it's just me with both boys. I can't keep up with him as well and he's not doing a good job listening. I know he's two and this is normal but we still need to work on it with him. Advice anyone??

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

1 Corinthians 13

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

I'll post again soon!

I can't believe that it's been so long since I've posted. All is well here but the bloggable moments have been few. The boys are still really cute but I've not felt inspired to jot the funny things down. I'll be back soon and with something new I'm working on (no, I'm not pregnant!). ;)

The picture in this post is OLD, old, old. November 2006. I love seeing old baby pictures of Jon David.
